JAPHETH A STORLIE

These photographs are created directly on photographic paper using a variety of large-format cameras, including pinhole cameras, traditional large-format cameras, and custom hand-built cameras. The images are produced as either paper negatives or unique direct-positive prints and range in size from 4 × 5 inches to 16 × 20 inches. Paper negatives can be contact printed in the darkroom onto traditional photographic paper to produce positive prints, allowing multiple prints to be made from a single negative. Direct-positive images, by contrast, are created directly on photographic paper through the camera, making each photograph a one-of-a-kind original.
